Daniel Wright through to 400m hurdles final
LIMA, Peru— Despite easily winning his semi-final heat and booking a place in the final of the men’s 400m hurdles at the World Athletics Under -20 Championships in Lima, Peru, Daniel Wright was not pleased with his execution.
He said, however, that he will improve for the final set to take place on Saturday.
Wright ran 51.11 seconds, comfortably ahead of Chile’s Ramon Fuenzalida, who ran a lifetime best 51.33 seconds but was the seventh best qualifier.
Trevoy Smith was eighth in his semi-final in 54.24 seconds and failed to advance.
Kelly-Ann Carr also missed out on a place in the women’s final after she hit a hurdle early in her race, stumbled badly and finished eighth in 1:00.33.
