GK General Insurance extends Hurricane Beryl claim submission deadline
KINGSTON, Jamaica— GK General Insurance (GKGI), a member of the GraceKennedy Financial Group, said it has extended the deadline for its clients impacted by Hurricane Beryl to submit their property claims.
The deadline for submission of all claim reports with supporting documentation has been extended to Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
While acknowledging the challenges many Jamaicans are facing since the passage of the category four storm on July 3, K. Michelle Reid, claims manager at GKGI explained, “our clients are at the heart of our business, and we understand that Hurricane Beryl has created significant difficulties for many.”
She added: “To provide more time for our clients to recover and address their immediate needs, we’ve extended our claim submission deadline beyond the usual 30-day period to September 10, 2024. Clients should submit their Hurricane Beryl claim notifications, reports, and supporting documents as soon as possible before the deadline, so that we can process the claims efficiently.”
Reid stated that GKGI recognises that many of its clients, particularly those in St Elizabeth, Manchester and Clarendon, may still be experiencing disruptions to their electricity and internet services following the storm.
“If you are in such a situation and need to file a Hurricane Beryl claim, please visit one of our branches in person or contact us by phone at 876-926-3204 or by WhatsApp at 876-581-8611. Our team is ready and waiting to help you submit your claim,” Reid assured.
GKGI said its clients can also download claims forms from its website and submit property claims through the ‘My Policy Portal’ at gk-insurance.com or via email to gki_claimscommunication@gkco.com.
