On Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at the Courtleigh Auditorium, the National Chorale of Jamaica (NCOJ) in association with Jamaica National Group hosted a musical dramatisation of American composer George Gershwin’s 1935 opera
Porgy & Bess, directed by NCOJ director Winston Ewart, and starring world-renowned bass-baritone Sir Willard White as Porgy, and his wife mezzo-soprano Lady White as Bess.

Attendees excited to watch the international opera stars, gathered for cocktails an hour before curtain call. Notables included former Governer General Sir Kenneth Hall, United States Ambassador to Jamaica N Nick Perry and Jamaica National Group Chief Executive Officer Earl Jarrett.
