Grange encourages support for Jamaica’s U-20 athletes ahead of World Championships in Peru
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment, and Sports, Olivia Grange, has extended her best wishes to Jamaica’s delegation as they prepare for the World Athletics Under-20 Championships, which begin on Tuesday in Lima, Peru.
In her message, Minister Grange encouraged the young athletes to “enjoy the experience of representing Jamaica on the world stage,” while emphasising that the country is “already very proud” of their achievement in qualifying for the championships.
Minister Grange also expressed her confidence in the team’s abilities, stating that she expects them to “do their best.”
“Your best will be good enough,” she assured. Grange also took the opportunity to urge Jamaicans to fully support the entire team, including coaches and officials.
“Surround them with only love and positive energy, and be mindful of the effects that social media posts could have on the young athletes,” said Minister Grange.
