Kaheim Dixon signs with Charlton Athletic Football Club
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Talented 19-year-old Jamaican winger Kaheim Dixon was on Friday unveiled as a Charlton Athletic player by the London club where he has signed a four year contract.
Dixon, who joined the League One outfit from Jamaica Premier League club Arnett Gardens for an undisclosed fee, was originally identified via the club’s partners, Mount Pleasant, with the move then being assisted by Charlton’s strong links to Dixon’s national team, according to a release on the Charlton website.
The player will wear jersey number 13.
Dixon led Clarendon College to two titles in last season’s ISSA schoolboys’ football competition, scoring 32 goals and getting 17 assists.
He also scored twice for the Reggae Boyz and was part of the squad at the Copa America in June where he was quoted as saying, “I’m very happy to be here. My first opportunity to go professional is to be at the Addicks. It’s been very good to see Karoy [Anderson], another teammate from my country. I can’t wait to start playing with him.”
