‘Wicked’ and ‘Troy’ charged for allegedly shooting at women, 14-y-o student
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Swift investigations by the Kingston Western police resulted in the arrest and charge of two men for allegedly shooting at three people, including a 14-year-old student.
The men were charged Wednesday in connection with the attempted shooting of two women and the child on Bentley Lane in Kingston on Friday.
Charged are 35-year-old Keon Campbell, otherwise called ‘Wicked’, an auto electrician from Coral Gobles Drive in Independence City, Portmore, St Catherine and David ‘Troy’ Simmonds, 28, a farmer from Tewarie Crescent in Rose Town, Kingston 13.
They are charged with three counts of shooting with intent, possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition and using a firearm to commit a felony.
Reports indicated that around 1:54 pm, the three people were standing along the roadway having a conversation when three gunmen on foot opened fire at them.
The three people ran off, evaded the gunmen and managed to escape injuries, the police said.
The accused men were among nine people named as persons of interest by the police. They were asked to turn themselves over to the authorities on Saturday, which they did.
They were charged based on witness statements and after a question-and-answer interview.
