Energy Ministry establishes JPS customer complaints email addresses
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Ministry of Science, Energy, Telecommunications, and Transport has established dedicated email addresses to streamline the process for receiving and resolving complaints from individuals who have received incorrect electricity bills over the recent billing periods, following the passage of Hurricane Beryl.
Effective immediately, Jamaica Public Service (JPS) customers who believe their bills have been unfairly affected are encouraged to submit their complaints through jpscomplaints@mset.gov.jm (JPS concerns) and ourcomplaints@mset.gov.jm (Office of Utilities Regulation concerns).
“It is truly unfortunate that persons who have already been significantly impacted by the passage of Hurricane Beryl are now being presented with inaccurate electricity bills,” Energy Minister Daryl Vaz commented, “Our priority is to ensure that every affected customer receives the necessary support and that any issues related to their electricity bills are addressed promptly and fairly.”
The ministry is advising customers to provide a brief description of their issue along with a copy of their last two electricity bills when submitting their complaint to facilitate a swift resolution.
The ministry said it appreciates the patience and cooperation of all Jamaican citizens as it works to resolve these issues.
