17-y-o student accused of assaulting woman in bathroom

ST JAMES, Jamaica — A seventeen-year-old student of a Montego Bay, St James address has been charged with rape and grievous sexual assault after he allegedly broke into a woman’s house and assaulted her in the bathroom earlier this month.

The incident reportedly happened on Monday, August 5.

According to police reports, about 3:30 pm, the woman was in her bathroom when the teen reportedly gained entry and sexually assaulted her.

It is alleged that he threatened to burn the woman’s house down if she spoke of the incident.

The police said the following day, the teenager attempted to assault the woman once more, but a passer-by intervened.

The matter was then reported to the police and the teenager was arrested and charged.
