Julian Marley submits Jah Sees Them — Amapiano Remix for Grammy
Following his recent Grammy win for Best Reggae Album with Colors of Royal Julian Marley, son of the legendary Bob Marley, is making waves once again with his submission for the 67th Grammy Awards.
He is setting his sights on a new category: Best Remixed Recording in the Pop & Dance/Electronic Field.
Jah Sees Them – Amapiano Remix, a high-energy club track, masterfully fuses Julian’s signature reggae sound with the pulsating rhythms of South Africa’s Amapiano genre. The remix was crafted by a talented team, including UK producer/DJ Footsteps, producer MrMyish, and the album’s producer/engineer Alexx Antaeus. Mixing and mastering were handled by Antaeus, along engineers Joe Maldonado and Alex Psaroudakis.
Julian Marley commented, “The (Jah Sees Them -) Amapiano Remix represents my deep passion for music beyond just reggae. It’s a powerful fusion that bridges cultures and genres, reflecting my belief that music has no boundaries,” commented Marley.
Antaeus added, “This remix echoes our team’s dedication to creating timeless music that connects with listeners across generations. The track is a testament to our commitment to push the envelope and create sounds that resonate with the heart and soul, transcending borders.”
With the eligibility period for the 2025 Grammys running from September 16, 2023 to August 30, 2024, Marley’s remix promises to captivate both fans and critics alike.
Grammy timelines include first round voting from October 4 to 15, the nominations announcement on November 8, final round voting from December 12, 2024 to January 3, 2025, culminating in the awards ceremony on February 2, 2025.
Fresh off a successful European tour, Julian Marley is set to join The Marley Brothers, Legacy US Tour alongside Ziggy, Stephen, Ky-mani, and Damian — a reunion long awaited by fans beginning September 5.
