Retired Sergeant Uzander George McFarlene laid to rest
ST ANN, Jamaica — Hundreds of mourners from near and far flocked the York Castle High School auditorium in Brown Town, St Ann on Saturday to celebrate the life of retired sergeant Uzander George McFarlene.
McFarlane died on June 12, after a brief illness.
In his tribute, Commissioner of Police Dr Kevin Blake said, “Truly the contributions of Sergeant McFarlane to the crime-fighting effort of the force have not gone unnoticed. As we mourn his passing, let us pledge to continue with our mandate ‘serve, protect and reassure’ as we make our beloved island more safe and secure for all. “
McFarlane retired from the Jamaica Constabulary Force on July 1, 2021, after more than 30 years of service, most of which was to train members to become force motorcyclists.
His remains were interred in his hometown of Retreat in the parish.
