Noah Lyles says he is now COVID-free
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Olympic 100 metres champion Noah Lyles says he is now COVID-free.
Lyles gave the update via a social media post on Saturday, the final day of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, France.
Sharing a photo of a COVID test, Lyles captioned the post, “Thank God, I am COVID-free”.
Two days earlier, Lyles said his Paris Games were likely over after he tested positive for the virus.

Moments before that he finished in third place in the 200m, claiming that COVID had affected his performance in that race.
Lyles was expected to join the Americans’ 4x100m relay quartet for the final on Friday but had to withdraw from that event.
He won the 100m last Sunday by just five-thousandths of a second, but Botswana’s Letsile Tebogo scorched to victory in the 200m on Thursday.
