Senior citizen shot dead in Stony Hill robbery
A senior citizen, Corrol Wizard, 65, was shot dead Wednesday night and his stepson injured during a robbery at a shop on Airy Castle Road in Stony Hill, St Andrew.
“I don’t know where to turn and what to do. Three of us live together and I came home and heard that one dead and one gone to hospital. It is not a good feeling to come and buck up in that,” said Lucille Lewis, the common-law wife of Wizard.
“We live here for over 40 years,” she told the Jamaica Observer, insisting that Wizard never deserved such a death.
One female resident said, “I couldn’t believe it. I don’t feel like I am coming back out here to drink again. He was a jovial person and a good man and this was not supposed to happen. He was friendly and hard-working. It was a robbery. People were in the shop and had to run. I heard around 10 shots fire about 7:25 Wednesday night.”
