#ParisOlympics: Levell, Tracey fail to advance
KINGSTON, Jamaica — No Jamaican man will contest the 200m final at the Olympic Games for the first time since 2004, after Bryan Levell failed to get past the semi-finals at Stade de France in Paris on Wednesday.
Levell finished eighth in his semi-finals in 20.93 seconds.
Levell, who won the event at the JAAA National Championships in late June, had run three straight days after he also took part in the repechage round on Tuesday to earn a semi-final spot.
Meanwhile, National record holder Adelle Tracey ended her competition schedule after she failed to get past the repechage round of the women’s 1500m earlier in the day.
Tracey, who also ran in the repechage of the women’s 800m, ran 4:14.52 seconds to place 11th in her race after she had run 4:09.33 seconds in the first round a day earlier.
