#ParisOlympics: Jamaican women fail to advance to 400m final
KINGSTON, Jamaica — In a stunning turn of events, none of Jamaica’s three representatives got past the semi-finals of the women’s 400m at the Olympic Games at Stade de France in Paris with world leader and national record holder Nickisha Pryce, finishing fourth in her semi- final.
Going into the Games, Pryce, who had reeled off a series of brilliant times, topped by her sublime 48.57 seconds at the London Diamond League two weeks ago, looked flat as she struggled to finish 50.77 seconds in the event.
Stacey Ann Williams ran 50.79 seconds for seventh in her semi final while Junelle Bromfield was eighth in her semi final in 51.93 seconds, the slowest time overall in the round.
