#ParisOlympics: Fraser-Pryce pulls out of semi-final
PARIS, France — Two-time Olympic champion Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce withdrew from Saturday’s 100m semi-finals at the Paris Games.
Observer Online understands that the Jamaican pulled out of the race after feeling discomfort in her hamstring during warm-ups.
Fraser-Pryce had been scheduled to compete in the second semi-final in a field that included reigning World Champion Sha’Carri Richardson and St Lucia’s Julien Alfred.
Alfred won the semifinals ahead of Richardson.
It means that Jamaica will only be represented by Tia Clayton in the final later Saturday as the island’s other competitor, Shashalee Forbes, failed to progress beyond the semifinal round after finishing sixth in her heat with a time of 11:20.
Clayton won her heat in a time of 10:89.
