#ParisOlympics: National record and final for Jamaica’s mixed 4x400m team
Jamaica’s mixed 4x400m relay team ran a national record 3:11.06 to advance to back-to-back Olympic finals after placing fourth in their semi- final on Friday at Stade de France in Paris.
The team of Reheem Hayles, Junelle Bromfield, Zandrion Barnes and Stephenie Ann McPherson, were fourth in their heat behind the USA who ran a world record 3:07.41, France who ran 3:10.60 and Belgium who ran 3:10.74, also national records.
The Jamaicans qualified on time and were joined by Poland who ran 3:11.43.
The Jamaican quartet broke the previous record of 3:11.76 set at the Tokyo Olympic Games three years ago with the team of Sean Bailey, Bromfield, Stacey-Ann Williams and Karayme Bartley in the heats.
Jamaica were seventh in the final in Tokyo.
