Jamaican quartet of Barnes, Hayles, Knight and Williams for 4x400m mixed relay heat
PARIS, France – Jamaica’s 4x400m mixed relay team will compete in lane two of heat one on Friday, the opening day of the track and field championships at the Olympic Games in Paris. The event is scheduled to start at 12 pm Jamaica time.
The Jamaican team, consisting of Zandrion Barnes, Reheem Hayles, Andrenette Knight, and Ashley Williams, will enter their heat with the seventh fastest time of three minutes and 14.49 seconds.
The heat also includes the United States, who will run from lane six. The Americans are the fastest team in the heat with their season’s best time of 3:10.73. The event will also feature Kenya in lane three, The Bahamas in lane four, Poland in lane five, Belgium in lane seven, host France in lane eight, and Switzerland in lane nine.
Heat two of the event will see Ukraine, Italy, Great Britain, Nigeria, The Netherlands, Ireland, the Dominican Republic, and Germany competing. The top three finishers from each heat, plus the next two fastest qualifiers, will advance to the final of the competition.
The final of the event is scheduled for Saturday, 1:55pm Jamaica time.
