Duncans and Boys’ Town held in JFF Championship play-offs
Duncans United, 12th Street and Boys Town FC had their winning starts to the Jamaica Football Federation Championships play-offs cut when they drew their games played on Saturday.
Duncans United and 12th Street played out a 2-2 draw in their Group D game played at William Knibb Memorial on Saturday while Boys’ Town came from behind twice to earn a similar 2-1 draw against Seaforth SC at Collie Smith Drive.
Exchange United of St Ann were awarded points after Axum FC of St Mary failed to field a team in their Group B game while Lucea United rebounded from their opening loss to beat Granville United of St James 2-1.
At William Knibb Memorial, 12th Street rallied from a 2-0 half-time deficit to earn a draw against Duncans United.
Gerold Underhill scored in the seventh minute to give Duncans United the lead and Garfield Stewart made it 2-0 in the 10th minute as they appeared to be on their way to another easy win after beating Granville United 5-0 in their opening game.
Abena Wallace, however, pulled a goal back in the 56th minute to cut into Duncans United’s lead and Michael Kerr then drew the Westmoreland team level in the 70th minute.
In the other Group D game played, Jahvin Smith fired Lucea United into the lead as early as the sixth minute but Kavarn Wilson drew Granville United back level when he scored in the 20th minute.
Chovion Anderson scored what turned out to be the winner for Lucea United in the 35th minute.
At Collie Smith Drive, Renar Edwards gave Seaforth SC the lead in the 22nd minute but Tyree Thomson pulled the home team level in the 29th minute.
Ojay Campbell shot Seaforth SC back into the lead in time added at the end of the first half but Almando Sinclair salvaged a point for Boys’ Town when he scored in time added at the end of the second half.
