UPDATE: Police identify JDF soldier found dead
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) soldier who was found dead on the Palisadoes main road in Kingston on Tuesday morning has been identified.
He is Corporal Sekou Medder.

The details regarding his death are still being investigated.
Speaking with Observer Online, JDF Major Kayson Gunzell said the entire force is saddened by the tragic incident.
“The incident is currently being investigated by the police and we are collaborating as best as possible. Our priority at this time is to offer support to family members and service members who were close to the service member,” Major Gunzell said.
Gunzell further appealed to the media and the public to be sensitive to the nature of this incident and also to respect the privacy of the family members and the soldiers affected.
