WYFT!!!!!
Felva, Busta Rhymes, Ding Dong, Popeye Caution collab on fun track
One of the most popular figures in South Florida dance circles, Felva’s specialty is blending hip sounds for fans, whether as an artiste or selector.
On Weh Yuh Find This (aka WYFT), he teams with Busta Rhymes, Ding Dong, and Popeye Caution.
The song, released on July 5, is a mix of hip hop and dancehall, genres Felva was weaned on in Miami, his hometown.
The song is distributed by The Conglomerate Ent, Busta Rhymes’ label.
Felva credits long-time colleague Popeye Caution for initiating the multi-artiste collaboration. The South Florida-based, Jamaican deejay introduced him to Ding Dong and they agreed to do a song together after making the connection on FaceTime.
Ding Dong then suggested Busta Rhymes be part of the track which became WYFT.
“I’m beyond words! Like many of us, I grew up listening to Busta Rhymes and watching his music videos. He’s a major inspiration for me, not only in hip hop and reggae, but in the world of music as a whole. So to hear him over one of my beats feels surreal,” Felva gushed.
He continued: “This collaboration feels like a lifelong dream, and to do it alongside my brothers, Ding Dong and Popeye, is an absolute blessing.”
WYFT is the latest venture featuring Popeye Caution and Felva, who represent South Florida’s diverse populace.
Born in Kingston, Popeye Caution has lived in the United States since his youth and began recording songs 14 years ago.
Felva, whose roots are in Colombia and Ecuador, has made his name in Miami’s vast Latin community as an artiste, DJ and producer. He specialises in reggaeton, a percussive Latin genre inspired by dancehall-reggae from the 1980s and 1990s.
In 2023, Felva and Popeye Caution collaborated with Puerto Rican reggaeton star Jowell on the EP, Starboy.
