Jordan replaces injured Louis in Windies Test squad
BIRMINGHAM, England (CMC) — The dream of pacer Jeremiah Louis to follow his younger brother and become the second player from St Kitts to play Tests for West Indies hit a snag.
According to a post on the Cricket West Indies website, Barbadian pacer Akeem Jordan has come into the squad to replace Louis due to injury.
The website post indicated that Louis sustained a hamstring injury during the second Test against hosts England at Trent Bridge in Nottingham and has been ruled out of the reminder of the series, which ends with the third and final match, starting on Friday at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
Jordan, who was already in the United Kingdom, joined with the squad and took part in training on Wednesday.
Jordan was a member of the West Indies squad for the first time on the tour of South Africa last year, and was also a member of the squad on the tour of Australia earlier this year, but he is yet to play a Test.
Louis is to remain with the Test squad in England to receive further treatment.
