After battering from Beryl, Ribbiz Ocean Lounge to officially reopen Friday
Kingston, Jamaica – The proprietors of Ribbiz Ocean Lounge on the waterfront in downtown Kingston say extensive repairs have been undertaken on the facility after it was battered by Hurricane Beryl earlier this month, and it is now back open to welcome guests.
On Friday, the entertainment spot will host a reopening block party featuring sound system Stone Love. The event kicks off at 9pm and admission is free, according to a press release by the facility.
Brian ‘Ribbi’ Chung, co-director of Ribbiz, disclosed that most of the windows had to be replaced and the exterior deck had to be rebuilt following the hurricane.
“Quite a bit of work has been done to get Ribbiz Ocean back up and running but now we are happy to report that we will officially reopen on Friday with a block party. The location sustained a lot of damage from the hurricane which we had to quickly address,” Chung said.
“A significant sum has been invested in the location to get it ready to receive customers. We know how customers look forward to dining on the waterfront especially now being summer, lots of families spend time there and the onus fell on us, as owners of the Ribbiz brand to continue to deliver an exceptional experience for them,” he added.
