Nickisha Pryce runs national record, world lead in London Diamond League
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Nickisha Pryce ran a stunning 48.57 seconds, the seventh best ever and a new world lead in the women’s 400m as she won her first professional race at the London Diamond League on Saturday.
Pryce, who also lowered her previous Jamaican national record of 48.89 seconds which was set last month, moved up seven spots on the all-time rankings and pencilled in her name for a medal at next month’s Olympic Games in Paris.
The two-time Jamaican champion was never challenged and dragged Natalia Kaczmarek to a Polish national record of 48.90 seconds and Lieke Klaver of the Netherlands to a personal best 49.58 seconds.
