Electricity woes prompt curfew in Manchester
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — Police are reporting that a curfew has been imposed in three Manchester communities following recent incidents of crimes including robberies and murder committed under the cover of darkness.
Police say the curfew which started at 6:00 pm on Saturday is to end at 6:00 pm on Monday covering the communities of Landsettlement, Comfort and Broadleaf where there are areas without electricity.
The curfew follows last week’s murder of car dealer Omar Powell and the robbery of three vehicles from his home in Landsettlement.
