Digicel pushing ‘One Jamaica’ summer campaign to reignite national pride
AS summer 2024 unfolds, telecommunications provider Digicel is moving to unite Jamaicans more than ever before under the theme ‘One Jamaica’.
Labelled in the spirit of togetherness, the campaign pulls on the best of Jamaican culture and communities as the company attempts to rally the country around our shared heritage, national pride, and resilience.
With the successful launch of its iconic One Jamaica video on social media on Wednesday, Digicel is turning the collective attention towards Jamaica’s promise at the Olympic Games in Paris this summer.
The rallying message that calls on everyone to get ready is headlined by Digicel brand ambassador, sprint legend, and five-time Olympian Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, in tandem with fellow brand ambassador, Paralympian, Alphanso Cunningham.
“Our video message is just the beginning. In addition to our broadcast sponsorship of the Olympics on television, we’ll be bringing everyone even closer in a time of renewal and celebration through an exciting series of events and offers this summer,” said Tari Lovell, chief marketing officer for Digicel.
In addition, Digicel will be collaborating with Red Stripe and GraceKennedy to stage an Olympic Village at the Half-Way-Tree Transport Centre from August 2-10, 2024.
Located in the nation’s busiest thoroughfare, the area will be transformed into a party-like atmosphere as cheering fans witness Team Jamaica’s exhilarating performances on the track and field where every millisecond and millimetre count.
Phone specials, Olympic-themed games, branded merchandise giveaways, and entertainment will be part of the experience for fans and passers-by.
The digital operator will also be taking the excitement on the road to lift spirits in parishes worst affected by Hurricane Beryl.
The Digicel One Jamaica Tour will be rolling into Mandeville, Manchester; Junction, St Elizabeth; and Savanna-la-Mar, Westmoreland, on July 24, 25, and 26, respectively.
At each stop, customers can win supermarket and hardware store vouchers, cash, and other prizes when they activate a 28-day ‘Prime Brawta’ plan for prepaid, a ‘Prime Start’ postpaid plan, or pick up a phone bundle deal.
These offers will also be available in participating Digicel stores in St Mary, Portland, St Catherine, St James, St Ann, and Kingston where customers can also win when they pay due bills on time and in full.
“It takes a winning and resilient spirit to be part of the One Jamaica movement this summer,” Lovell asserted.
“That’s why we’re inviting everyone to raise their index finger in support of our athletes as Jamaica goes for glory in Paris… there’s only One Jamaica,” added Lovell.
