JADCO absent from Julian Morrison anti-doping hearing
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Neither representatives of the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission (JADCO) nor its legal representatives from Wilkinson Law were present for the anti-doping hearing brought against national squash player Julian Morrison on Thursday morning.
The hearing, which convened virtually at 10:00 am on Thursday, featured only the Independent Anti Doping Panel (IADP), chaired by Catherine Minto, Morrison, and his legal representative Dr Emir Crowne.
Although given almost a week’s notice of the hearing on Thursday, Wilkinson Law notified the panel of its unavailability just over an hour before the start of proceedings, saying that neither the date nor time was convenient for it or JADCO due to court hearings and previously scheduled engagements.
Morrison was provisionally suspended by JADCO after testing positive on January 28 for trace amounts of Boldenone, a banned anabolic substance.
Morrison’s representatives Crowne and Matthew Gayle argue his innocence because the substance unintentionally entered his body through contamination.
More to come as this story develops.
