Di Miracle Angel no longer a maiden
In her fifth career start, Di Miracle Angel found her stride, producing a come-from-behind victory in the Richard Azan Trophy on Saturday, July 13, 2024.
Trained by Robert Pearson, the three-year-old chestnut filly accelerated in the final furlong, surging by her rivals to win a maiden condition race for native-bred three-year-old fillies at five furlongs straight by 3 lengths.
Di Miracle Angel (Berlino Di Tiger – Myangel) stopped the clock in a time of 1:02.0 with splits of 24.3 x 48.3.
Di Miracle Angel, ridden by Tevin Foster, left her starting barrier in good order but had to sit behind the early leaders.
Gelory (Marshall Porter), Big Bop (Abigail Able), and Radam (Aaron Chatrie) prompted the pace in the early exchanges.
Coming across the dummy rails to the main track for the last two furlongs, Radam took control of the race and looked strong on the lead.
However, Foster kept his mount well-balanced and produced Di Miracle Angel for an effort and she responded to earn his first win.
Radam finished in second place, while Gelroy finished third.
