90% of customers reconnected to mobile services — Flow
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Communications and entertainment provider Flow says mobile services are now available to 90 per cent of its customers, up from 77 per cent following the immediate passage of Hurricane Beryl.
The company said this has been bolstered by the restoration of more than 200 cell sites since July 4.
On its fixed (internet, voice, cable) network, Flow said 193,000 customers were impacted by the storm and approximately 82 per cent of those impacted have been restored.
In the meantime, the company said fixed restoration work is ongoing across all parishes with St Thomas, Portland, St James, and St Catherine having the largest percentage of restored communities, while St Elizabeth, Manchester, and Trelawny have the least.
The company noted that communities that received the most damage may require an estimated four weeks for restoration work to be completed.
