Sandals Foundation promises more support for communities ravaged by Beryl
IN the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Beryl, Sandals Foundation mobilised quickly to offer vital aid to residents of the worst-affected areas.
To address the immediate needs of those impacted the foundation shipped containers of water and tarpaulin to Jamaica’s south coast.
In partnership with Lasco Foundation the organisation also funded 550 food packages which were distributed to families in Portland Cottage, Clarendon, and coastal farming communities in St Elizabeth
These efforts were aimed at providing essential nourishment and relief to those affected by the hurricane.
Looking forward, the philanthropic arm of Sandals Resorts International remains steadfast in its dedication to supporting and uplifting communities affected by natural disasters.
“Our hearts are with the families and communities impacted by Hurricane Beryl,” said Heidi Clarke, executive director of Sandals Foundation.
“We are deeply committed to standing by their side during this challenging time. Together with our partners, and [with] generous support from our donors, we will continue to provide the necessary aid and support to help these communities heal and rebuild stronger than before.
“We are presently working with local agencies and community members to assess and plan projects that will help to rebuild the livelihoods of individuals affected,” added Clarke.
