New date for MUJ coronation
The franchise holders of the Miss Universe Jamaica pageant have announced a new date for the 2024 grand coronation.
The finals will take place on Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the prestigious AC Hotel Kingston.
The grand coronation was postponed due to the recent passage of Hurricane Beryl.
Organisers have indicated that the planned spectacular show will still be attended by special guest Sheynnis Palacios, the reigning Miss Universe 2023, who hails from Nicaragua.
She will be accompanied by esteemed members of the Miss Universe Organization.
The evening’s proceedings will be guided by Dr Terri-Karelle Johnson and Joel Nomdarkham, with captivating performances by the renowned Gem Myers, along with musical performances from TikTok sensation Rajesh, and new era reggae star Jaz Elise.
The climax of the evening will be Miss Universe Jamaica 2023 Dr Jordanne Lauren Levy handing over the crown to the new queen.
This year, based on new rules, contestants need to be a minimum 18 years old, with no upper limit, which has seen entrants in their 40s and their 50s.
