Hall-of-Fame Stakes Trophy up for grabs in thrilling GR1 contest
I Am Fred, Is That A Fact renew rivalry in highly anticipated 6-furlong showdown
The stage is set for what is expected to be an electrifying showdown in the Thoroughbred Racing Hall-of-Fame Stakes Trophy, a prestigious Graded Stakes (GR1) contest worth $1.75 million.
The race, scheduled for tomorrow, has drawn a talented six-horse field of three-year-olds and upward, all vying for glory over a thrilling 6-furlong sprint.
Among the top contenders are stablemates I Am Fred and Is That A Fact, who renew their rivalry here on the track.
I Am Fred, the hard-knocking runner, will be looking to assert his dominance once again, while Is That A Fact, a versatile runner with a strong finishing kick, will be seeking to upset his stablemate and claim the coveted trophy.
Below, the Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide takes a closer look at each runners in the line-up and their chances of winning.
1. SHE’S MY FRIEND: (5 b m by Natural Selection – My Friend Lucy) – This five-year-old mare is essentially a pacesetter for her more fancied stablemates. Don’t expect She’s My Friend to be in the mix at the finish.
2. MADELYN’S SUNSHINE (USA): (5 dk b/br m by Joe’s Son Joey – Madelyn’s Finest) – Returns to competitive racing from a 112-day break. Madelyn’s Sunshine will likely need a race or two to get back into the swing of things, so don’t expect a winning performance just yet.
3. SENSATIONAL MOVE : (4 ch c by Sensational Slam – Money Move) – He will be outsprinted by the competition in this race. Sensational Move is a long shot at best.
4. I AM FRED (USA): (6 b g by Golden Lad – Happy Hailey) – He showcased his versatility by leading from start to finish in the Supreme Ventures Limited 23rd Anniversary Trophy over 5 ½ furlongs on June 22, demolishing the field by 7 ¾ lengths in a blistering 1:05.2. Expect him to dominate even more at this longer distance — he’s the one to beat!
5. IS THAT A FACT (USA): (4 b c by Palace Malice – Valid Code) – Was no match for I Am Fred’s recent resurgence, trailing by 7 ¾ lengths in their last encounter. However, he’s been training like a beast and could be the only one who can challenge his stablemate’s supremacy. Will he be able to turn the tables and make this a race to remember?
6. JORDON REIGN’S (USA): (6 b g by Mosler – Dearie Be Good) – A winner over the 5-straight course on May 19. Jordon Reign’s is not expected to repeat here.
