Duane Johnson appointed head of JC track and field team
Observer Online has been reliably informed that Duane Johnson has been appointed head of the Jamaica College (JC) Track and Field team.
Johnson, a JC Old Boy, replaces Neil Harrison, whose contract was not renewed at the end of the season.
When contacted, Johnson, who has been a middle and long-distance coach at JC for the past eight years, declined to confirm or deny his appointment.
Harrison, who was appointed head coach of JC in 2018, led the Old Hope-based institution to the Boys’ Championships title in 2021. JC amassed 278 points to finish a disappointing second to rivals Kingston College, who tallied 335 points to win this year’s Boys’ Championships in March.
