One of two suspects in St James triple murder surrenders to police
ST JAMES, Jamaica — One of two suspects wanted in connection with a brutal triple murder on King Street in Montego Bay, St James, on Tuesday has turned himself in to the police.
In custody is John Roach, who was also listed as a person of interest in another shooting incident in the parish.
It is alleged that Roach and another gunman engaged law enforcement in a shootout when they responded to the scene of the triple murder. Two firearms were reportedly seized following the melee.
The deceased are 26-year-old Rashaun Antanio Williams, 17-year-old student Jaydon Verrol Bennett, and 62-year-old fisherman David West, all of King Street addresses in the parish.

According to Commander of the St James Police Division, Superintendent (SP) Eron Samuels, the police were relentless in their pursuit of the suspects and are pleased Roach has turned himself in. He urged all other suspects involved in the killing to do the same.
We are happy that he turned himself in, and we are asking that all other suspects in matters, rather than have us pursue you, heed our warning and turn yourselves in,” Samuels said.
The suspect, upon hearing that he was to be transported to the St James police, we were told that he wet himself over the relentless pursuit that we had of him. We are just informing persons that when you are wanted by the police, we will not stop.”
Kasheem Lewis, otherwise called Borderline, is the other person implicated in Tuesday’s triple murder. He is being asked to follow in his colleague’s footsteps and hand himself over to the police.
Here in St James, we are committed to doing our best to ensure citizens are safe. If this means we are to relentlessly pursue all criminal suspects and all wanted persons, that’s what we’re going to do,” Samuels concluded.
