Nelson, Cox added to Jamaican Olympic team
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Sprinter Kemba Nelson and quarter-miler Anthony Cox have been added to the Jamaican team for the Olympic Games according to a release from the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA).
The additions were reportedly made on Monday, July 8.
Nelson, who led off the silver medal-winning women’s 4x100m relay team at the 2022 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, Oregon, was fifth in the women’s 100m at the JAAA National Championships at the National Stadium on Friday, June 28.
Cox, who was sixth in the men’s 400m on the same day, replaces 800m specialist Kemar Farquharson on the mixed 4x400m relay team.
