Jamaican wanted in US for alleged scamming activities nabbed in Hanover

HANOVER, Jamaica — A man who is wanted in the United States to answer to charges relating to mail fraud, money laundering, wire fraud, and other lottery scamming activities has been captured in Old Road district in Lucea, Hanover.

The Jamaican fugitive has been identified as 35-year-old Dwayne Anderson otherwise called ‘Blue’ of the area.

Anderson was captured on Thursday due to collaborative efforts of the Jamaica Fugitive Apprehension Team (JFAT), Lottery Scam Task Force (LSTF), and the Area One Operational Support Team.

Reports are that between the hours of 4:00 am and 6:00 am, Anderson was found and arrested at a house in the area during an operation.

He was subsequently placed in custody pending an extradition hearing.
