Body of 20-y-o washed away by floodwaters in Arnett Gardens found
The police have confirmed that the body of 20-year-old Alrick Moncrieffe, who was washed away by floodwaters in Havana, Arnett Gardens, St Andrew, during the passage of Hurricane Beryl last week, has been found.
According to information received from the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s communication network, the body was recovered from the Shoemaker Gully on Half Way Tree Road in St. Andrew on Thursday morning.
Moncrieffe, otherwise called ‘Kalonji’ and ‘Lala’, was playing football with friends during the passage of the Category 4 hurricane last Wednesday when he reportedly attempted to retrieve a ball that had fallen into the gully. He was swept away by the raging floodwaters, prompting a search party to be launched.
