The true spirit of Jamaica
The following is an open letter to employees of the tourism sector:
Dear Editor,
Tourism workers, on behalf of the Government and visitors, I want to express our deepest gratitude for your extraordinary dedication and service during Hurricane Beryl.
In the face of a natural disaster you demonstrated the true spirit of Jamaican hospitality. Your unwavering commitment to ensuring the safety and comfort of guests, often at great personal risk and sacrifice, is truly commendable.
From working tirelessly to secure properties and caring for visitors, to helping with evacuations, your efforts have not gone unnoticed.
Your professionalism and warmth helped calm fears and provided reassurance during a stressful time. I am sure your kindness and resilience left a lasting positive impression, even amidst the storm.
Your quick return to work to help restore tourism operations was crucial in getting our sector back on its feet. Your dedication plays a vital role in Jamaica’s economy and in sharing our beautiful country with the world.
Thank you for being the backbone of our tourism sector and for embodying the best of Jamaica. Your hard work and indomitable spirit are deeply appreciated.
