Warning discontinued as Beryl moves away from Jamaica
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Hurricane Warning, which has been in effect for Jamaica since Tuesday, has been discontinued as Beryl moves further away from the island.
The Meteorological Service of Jamaica made the announcement in its final bulletin on the system on Wednesday night. It has, however, warned that rains associated with Beryl could still affect the island.
Weather conditions should improve throughout Thursday.
In a statement to the country following the Met Service’s announcement, Prime Minister Andrew Holness thanked first responders, essential services, security forces and good Samaritans who offered assistance during what he described as a “time of crisis.”
