Miss Universe Jamaica postpones coronation ceremony due to Hurricane Beryl
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Organisers have postponed the coronation ceremony for Miss Universe Jamaica 2024 due to the imminent arrival of Hurricane Beryl.
The ceremony was scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 6, 2024.
In a statement on Wednesday morning, the organisation said the safety and well-being of the reigning queens, contestants, staff, and loyal supporters are of the utmost importance.
It noted that the grand coronation will still take place and said stakeholders will be promptly notified of a new date once it is confirmed.
In the interim, the organisation urged the public to prioritise their safety and the safety of their loved ones.
“We also encourage all to stay informed, stay safe, and let us navigate this challenging situation together. Thank you for your understanding and continued support,” the organisation said.
