University Singers ends thrilling 2024 season run tonight
The curtains come down on this year’s captivating concert season of The University Singers this evening at Philip Sherlock Centre for the Creative Arts, The University of the West Indies, Mona.
The show promises to be the highlight of a remarkable series of performances that have run every weekend from June 1.
According to President Gavane Ferguson, “This season has been an incredible journey of musical excellence and cultural celebration, [showcasing]… highly intricate harmonies, dynamic movements, and visually striking presentations that combine colourful costumes and expressive performances.”
The season has featured a mix of classical items, Negro spirituals, folk pieces, and, of course, authentic Jamaican music.
The choir took audiences on a musical journey featuring standout items and original compositions by Musical Director Franklin Halliburton, Dr Kathy Brown, former musical director the late Noel Dexter, and other esteemed composers and arrangers.
The University Singers Concert Season 2024 grand gala presentation begins at 6:00 pm.
