#NationalTrials: Pryce retains 400m title
KINGSTON, Jamaica — As expected, Nickisha Pryce retained her women’s 400m title on Sunday’s final day of the JAAA national championships, running 50.01 seconds in the finals at the National Stadium.
Pryce, who was a semi-finalist at last year’s World Athletics Championships, broke the national record earlier in June, running 48.89 seconds, second best in the world so far this year, and is seen as a medal contender at the Olympic Games in Paris.
Former St Elizabeth Technical teammates Stacey-Ann Williams- 50.56 seconds and Junelle Bromfield- 51.24 seconds, grabbed the other spots on the Olympic team.
The veteran Stephenie-Ann McPherson was fourth with 51.28 seconds, followed by Ashley Williams-51.55 seconds, Andrenette Knight-51.65 seconds, Charokee Young- 52.64 seconds and Shaquena Foote- 53.16 seconds.
