#NationalTrials: Bryan Levell wins 200m title
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Bryan Levell completed four days of top quality sprinting after he ran a personal best 19.97 seconds (1.3m/s) to win the men’s 200m on Sunday’s final day of the JAAA National Championships at the National Stadium.
Two days after he ran sub 10.00 seconds for the first time, he chased and caught two-time defending champion Andrew Hudson just before the finish line to go under his previous best of 20.34 seconds set in 2022.
Hudson, who also has the Olympic qualifying mark, was second in 20.02 seconds with Javari Thomas third in 20.32 seconds.
With the qualifying window set to close at midnight June 30th, only Levell and Hudson will compete in the 200m for Jamaica at the Olympics in Paris.
Gary Card, who should be named to the Jamaican team to compete at the World Under-20 championships in Lima, was fifth in a personal best 20.50 seconds.
