#NationalTrials: Shanieka Ricketts wins sixth triple jump title
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Two-time World Championships silver medallist Shanieka Ricketts retained her women’s triple jump title on Saturday’s third day of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) National Championships at the National Stadium.
Ricketts jumped 14.50m (0.8m/s), just under her season best 14.58m, to claim her sixth national title. She is one of two Jamaicans who have already met the automatic qualifying mark for the Olympic Games in Paris.
Ackelia Smith, who has competed at the last two World Championships but is yet to make the qualifying mark for Paris, was second with 14.44m (-0.9m/s) while Imani Oliver was third with 13.69m.
Kimberly Williams, who was fourth with 13.67m, is the other Jamaican with the qualifying mark for the Olympics.
