#NationalTrials: Tia Clayton stuns in 100m semis
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Tia Clayton stunned the National Stadium on Friday’s second day of the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) National Championships after she upset two-time national champion Shericka Jackson by running a personal best 10.86 seconds (1.0m/s) in the semi-finals of the women’s 100m.
Clayton broke her previous best 11.02 seconds set in the first round on Thursday.
Jackson’s season’s best 10.87 seconds, easing through the line, was the next best into the final, while Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce ran 10.91 seconds to secure her spot.
Kemba Nelson-11.04 seconds, Shashalee Forbes-11,09, Natasha Morrison-11.16 seconds, Briana Williams-11.15 seconds and Alana Reid- 11.16 seconds are also through to the finals.
