Juliet Holness leads parliamentary delegation on working visit to Trinidad and Tobago
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Speaker of the House of Representatives, Juliet Holness, is currently heading a four-person delegation from the Jamaican Parliament on a working visit to Trinidad and Tobago.
The delegation, which includes Clerk to the Houses Colleen Lowe, will meet with officials from the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago.
The delegation will examine the procedures, corporate governance structure, and the integration of the Parliament of Trinidad and Tobago’s use of information technology infrastructure in their parliamentary processes. Members of the delegation will also meet with their counterparts to discuss matters of mutual interest to both Parliaments and observe first-hand the operations of the Parliament in the twin-island republic
“The aim of the visit is to see how best the Parliament of Jamaica can deploy our human resources and implement technological advances to modernise our operations to improve efficiency so that we can better serve the people of Jamaica,” said Holness.
The delegation will return to Jamaica on June 29.
