Three days to go for the glitziest gastronomic event in the Caribbean!
As the Main Event team kicked off the behind-the-scenes magic on the lawns of Devon House, in preparation for the 25th Jamaica Observer Table Talk Food Awards powered by Mastercard, judges, sponsors, and tastemakers poured into Spanish Court’s haute eatery, Strings & Stones for the official launch on Thursday, June 20.
“Two years ago I made a promise that we would do it bigger and better each year and we are really very happy to be able to be the title sponsor this year,” said Mastercard Country Manager – Jamaica, Trinidad & Tobago, Barbados & Eastern Caribbean Dalton Fowles. “After 25 years, 20 years’ worth of scholarships, over 100 beneficiaries, we are very consistent with our striving to do good, and I think we are locked in for a couple of years,” continued Fowles.
A highlight of the evening was a rare sighting of the behind-the-scenes stoker of the Food Awards flame, Jamaica Observer Deputy Managing Director Natalie Chin Samuda being lauded onstage. “We would like to publicly thank you Natalie for holding up the back, for staying calm, and for your patience,” said Food Awards conceptualiser Novia McDonald-Whyte as she presented her with the 2024 Keeper of the Flame Award.
