Are you a man of God?
CHRIST is not a person who compromises. Do what He says and all will be well; His yes is yes and His no is no. He wants you and I to be people of great faith. Your family and my family, you and I must be like Him.
We are brothers of Jesus Christ and sons and daughters of the same Father. “The Father and I are one.” I and my brother Jesus Christ are one; we are baptised in the water in the name of Jesus Christ, we have the same flesh and blood in the Eucharist. There is that divine quality given to us from the Father and the Son, and God gave us His word, His work, His world, and His flesh to be one in Him.
We must say what He says and do what He does in His life. There is no other way to be Christian but to live out His life and to configure the blessed one, the Holy one, Jesus Christ, for all to see, know and emulate.
“As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord,” said Joshua. Love of Jesus Christ and the Father drives us on. We must love Jesus Christ until we look like Him. It is our passion, our desire to know Him, love Him, and to serve Him until we enter into His heavenly kingdom and are with Him. We have no passion nor desire but to be united with Him and His loved ones in His kingdom.
It is true that we have other sinful and desires, like our forefather King David, but we must struggle against our sinful ways and subjugate and sublimate such passion. We are polluted and deceived by the world. We are blinded by the pleasure of the world that cannot satisfy us. We go into the world but we return to Jesus Christ, the blood and water that spilled from His side unto us even as He said, “Father, forgive them for the know not what they do.”
Our passions and our feelings are not necessarily bad but we must subordinate them in service of Christ. Full of remorse, we must turn to Christ as St Paul did: “Three times I have turned to the Lord and three times I have begged Him. I have sinned against you, Lord and I fall again and again. I do not do what I want to do but I do what is against my will. I beg your forgiveness, Lord. I do not give up, but I keep going and going, and I keep falling but you forgive me. You accept my cry, asking for forgiveness.
“I keep falling and when I cry you respond, ‘I want you.’ I understand you want me to be humble, you want me to understand, but only you Lord [are] without sins. I depend on you and you forgive and encourage me to keep on, rising and falling but not stopping on my journey to Calvary in serving you. And that you are pleased.
