Tuff Like Iron drops ‘Unbreakable’ album
Reggae fusion artiste Tuff Like Iron launched her album Unbreakable with a string of powerful performances from a number of rising acts. The album launch was held at the Caribbean Queen dock in downtown Kingston on her birthday on May 28.
Backed by the Affirmation Band, the crowd was wowed by a range of performances from upcoming acts like Kool Kid, Majesty, The Gideon, Goldy, Yungg Muta, Spechinal, Blaize Shell Shell, Sitara and Sashoni.
The artiste of the moment, Tuff Like Iron, performed songs from her album such as Balance, Everything and Sometimish, the latter getting a major forward from the crowd.
Disc jockeys such as Rassarella, Dj Iset, HotSteppa and Dj Freshmint kept the audience entertained in between the sets.
The 150 strong crowd was entertained by a spectacular fashion show organised by Tuff like Iron clothing and powered by fashion designers such as Mamayashi, Kadiann Nicely and Luv I Stylez who presented wonderfully curated pieces.
The audience received complimentary treats courtesy of IG star chef Iyah Vegan Kitchen. The album launch was also sponsored by Community Ready Corp, a California-based community organisation which gave away ten 18-inch fans.
The night was presented by Hotsteppa Music.
“It was a night full of joy, music, fashion, and food with a TUFF attitude!” an ecstatic Tuff Like Iron, whose real name is Kindele Aixe, said.
The Unbreakable album is currently available via the artist’s website in an unprecedented move to reconnect with fans through direct sales and direct downloads.
“Downloaders can expect a bonus, exclusive content as well as an unreleased dub instrumental. It will be on the traditional streaming platforms in weeks to come,” the Trinidadian-born Tuff Like Iron said.
