UPDATE: INDECOM probing fatal shooting of Manchester teen in alleged car chase
MANCHESTER, Jamaica — The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is probing Sunday’s fatal shooting of a teenager by the police in Williamsfield, Manchester.
The teen, identified by relatives as Mikhail Simpson, 14, was among occupants in a Toyota Mark X motor car reportedly involved in a chase. Earlier reports had said a man was killed in the incident.

Simpson, a grade eight student at Bellefield High School, was scheduled to sit his exams at the institution on Monday.
His sister, Yanique Dixon, said her brother and another sibling were travelling from their mother’s house in Kendal to Bellefield when the shooting incident happened.
Dixon alleges that her brother was killed in cold blood.
“They didn’t give them a chance to stop and to find out what was happening. They just shoot up the car and just killed my brother in cold blood. He is just 14 years old,” she said.
She said her other sibling, a 20-year-old man, ran from the scene and was later taken to hospital where he was admitted under police guard.
Preliminary reports are that about 5:00 pm, police had a vehicular checkpoint at Kendal when a white Toyota Mark X motor car allegedly attempted to elude law enforcement.
Further reports are that the Mark X then travelled towards Williamsfield where another police team attempted to intercept the vehicle. A high-speed chase reportedly ensued.
During the alleged chase, the Mark X crashed into a pickup near the Williamsfield train line. The driver of the pickup sustained minor injuries to his hand and reportedly had to seek cover during the shooting.
The Mark X came to a stop near Hope Village at a bar. Police said two occupants of the car escaped on foot. Police said a third occupant was found suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds and was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
