Ocho Rios High student hospitalised following shooting incident at school

ST ANN, Jamaica — A student of the Ocho Rios High School in St Ann was rushed to hospital after she was allegedly shot by her schoolmate on the grounds of the institution on Monday afternoon.

According to police, a male student took a firearm to school to show his friends when it went off hitting a female student in the leg.

The wounded child was taken to hospital for medical treatment. The firearm was seized.

The incident has left students and staff in shock.
